Is that right? A weekend of fun.... and also studying? Yes, that is possible! Here’s a look at my fun-filled but still work-oriented weekend.
After a hard week full week of work and other commitments, my friends and I decided we wanted to get ready for Halloween by shopping at Plato’s Closet on Friday. Plato’s Closet, which is down the road from Binghamton just past Wal-mart, is a second-hand store for teens. Not only do they sell gently-used clothing though, they also buy clothing. So one of my friends took this opportunity to go through her closet and pick out the clothes she never wears anymore to sell. She sold 6 of her shirts for $15! That’s not bad for college students looking for a little extra cash. The clothes are all gently used, and weren’t gross at all. We have a Plato’s Closet in Rochester where I live and it’s definitely nowhere as nice as this one. I was able to pick out some clearance items- a nice-fitting, off the shoulder shirt for $2.50, gray boots for $10, and two purses for a total of $3- one of which was new.
The rest of the night I went to work at the library on campus. Since it was a quiet night, I was able to do some homework. After work, I ended the night by watching a movie with my roommate.
On Saturday, I spent the day studying for midterms this week. In the evening, my former roommate had some friends out at TGIF’s for a birthday dinner. We took the bus there and had a good time catching up and eating off-campus food. After that, I spent the night with my floor watching the movie “Twilight” in preparation for the movie, “New Moon.”
On Sunday,I hung out in my friend’s room in another building for a little, studied, and then had a hall meeting with my building to see what is happening in our building.
And that sums up my weekend. We had a nice time, mixing fun with work. As a Binghamton student, you must be able to get your work done and have fun too!
