Neighborhood Science

When I was at my freshman orientation trying to choose classes I remember feeling overwhelmed by all the different choices. At a loss for what to take, I asked professors who were there for that very purpose. I talked to a science professor whose name I don’t remember. He recommended I take a class called Evolution for Everyone since it would be more interesting than general biology. I took his advice and the class ended up being my favorite that semester. I liked that class so much in fact that I felt tempted to switch majors so that I could take more classes like it and maybe even get involved in the research. Now, almost three years later I’m doing the next best thing. This weeks video is about a study that students from the Evolutionary Science Department are conducting in downtown binghamton. The class Evolution for Everyone is now taught by Dan O’ brien who was the head TA back when I took it. He was nice enough to fill me in on the project. Watch the video to find out more!
