GIMs & Pies

image

Hey all you readers out there!

The semester has really taken off and I must say it’s good to get back into a routine and keep myself busy. Getting used to classes and meeting new people are important things to do at the beginning of the semester, but another important thing is attending club GIMs (general interest meetings). For new students GIMs are great to get a taste of what types of things you’d like to be involved with on campus. There is everything from the Pirate club, Ballroom Dance, and the Student Association; you most likely you will find your niche.

Something new I’m involved with on campus this year is the Senior Class Council. Serving as e-board member for your class council is another great way to get involved and help support your class. So today, we hosted a fundraiser to raise money for the senior class gift to give back to the university. Students had the chance to pie the class officers in the face for $1! It may sound silly but we had a lot of participants and were able to raise a good amount of money towards getting a great gift! Your years at college are about meeting good people, doing things you enjoy, and making your mark on campus. So get out there and do it!

Yes, that picture is me being pied by my resident/apartment mate, she looks like she’s having a lot of fun pieing her RA!
